Rough and tumble multiple division titleholder Bernard "The Executioner" Hopkins will look to capture another title belt at age 48 against the heavy handed IBF Light Heavyweight Tavoris "Thunder" Cloud. The fight will be televised by HBO's World Championship Boxing on March 9th from the new Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
This fight has been rumored for quite a while. Hopkins is a sharp veteran boasting an extravagant 56-6-2 record in his Middleweight, Super Middleweight and Light Heavyweight title reigns. He most recently lost a decision to skilled Chad Dawson. Previously he beat George Foremans's record for oldest world champion roughly grabbing up a decision to Canadian Jean Pascal.
Tavoris Cloud is an undefeated young champion. He is known for unrelenting power but still shows vulnerabilities in Stamina and as proven by Spain based contender Gabriel Campillo he can be outboxed by a readied opponent. Will Cloud be able to flatten him out or will Hopkins break his own record for oldest titleholder as he did against Pascal? Tune in to find out!
Talented up and comer Keith Thurman will be in the televised co-headliner.
