On April 17th the local hero and Pound-For-Pound rated Middleweight champion Sergio " Maravilla " Martinez will face off against undefeated British fighter Martin Murray at a To-be-determined location in his homeland of Argentina.
This fight will be the man known as " Maravilla " first in Argentina for over ten years and is sure to draw a massive crowd seeing his success at the top of the world in recent years. He has had most of his major fights outside of Argentina against Paul Williams where he shockingly flattened the possible future hall of famer in two rounds or a tough but well fought win to Kelly Pavlik to capture his titles.
Martinez, Age 37 boasts an outstanding 50-2-2 record. He gained many fans for his supreme physical conditioning and slick knockout power. Most consider him the best champion in the Middleweight division recently beating the only true current adversary in Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
Murray, Age 30 hasn't blossomed as much so far. Recognized as maybe a top twenty ranked Middleweight most refer to him on regional, British level. A Victory over a great opponent like Martinez would discard that but most do not expect that seeing Murray had only gotten a controversial draw with respectable WBA Middleweight champion Felix Sturm seeing how much more talented Martinez is.
Martinez-Murray will be televised in both the United States and Argentina but no coverage has been announced this early as some minor things still must be finalized.
